We form committees and give you a voice. Please review our committee pages on top and reach out to us.

Our History

The Professional Association was established in 1988 by Theodore Kharpertian. Since then, it has had a total of nine presidents, with Michael Ferlise currently serving in the role.

The HCCC Professional Association is the union for full-time faculty whose purpose is the following:

  • To work for the welfare of students, the advancement of education, and the improvement of instructional opportunities for all.

  • To develop and promote the adoption of such personnel policies and standards of preparation and participation as mark a profession.

  • To advance the professional rights, status, and responsibilities of its members as educators.

  • To represent its members and other employees in negotiations and grievances with the HCCC Board of Trustees on all matters of compensation and all other terms and conditions of employment.

  • To form a representative body to speak with authority for the members.

  • To establish cooperation between the educator and the community.
